Jake Paul and Mike Tyson recently sat down for a face-to-face interview ahead of their epic boxing showdown on Nov. 15. The YouTuber-turned-boxer explained why he sees this matchup as a monumental moment for his boxing career.
When asked about his decision to take on the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion, Paul spoke about his admiration for Tyson’s illustrious career and how his opponent's journey has inspired him. Here's what 'The Problem Child' said:
"He's a legend, you know? This is the guy, this is one of the two most famous boxers to ever live - him and Muhammad Ali. This is a dream come true for me. I'm inspired by Mike, his story, what he's persevered through and to be able to fight him and to share the ring with such a legend is a special moment for me and it's historic. And the fact that we did it with Netflix, it's the biggest fight of the century, and that's what I love to do - make history, have fun, and go to war."

Jake Paul's rise to boxing stardom: From YouTuber to boxing contender
Jake Paul’s journey from a YouTube sensation to a professional boxer has been nothing short of remarkable. 'The Problem Child' has surprised both fans and critics since he first entered the ring as a professional boxer in January 2020.
The Ohio native has been in a series of high-profile matches since his debut and has earned respect from fans and even some seasoned fighters. The internet sensation is currently 10-1 as a professional in a mix of fights with boxers, MMA veterans, and other YouTubers-turned-fighters. Paul's only loss inside the ring came against Tommy Fury in February 2023.
Since then, the YouTuber-turned-boxer has rattled off four consecutive victories. Most recently, Paul dispatched Mike Perry via sixth-round knockout in July 2024 after Mike Tyson withdrew from their scheduled bout due to an ulcer flare-up.
Jake Paul's heavyweight showdown against Tyson is being considered by some to be Paul's toughest test to date. Despite the age difference of 31 years between the two fighters, Tyson’s raw power presents a serious threat for Paul.
If Paul can get through the former heavyweight boxing champion, it could elevate him to new heights and position him for more significant matchups.
