Former UFC welterweight Jake Shields is one of the most politically outspoken fighters today. Because of this, the American grappling specialist gets a ton of heat from a lot of individuals who take offense at his words online.
One such individual who took offense at Shields' sentiments towards the transgender community is a boxing champion Summer 'Non-Binary Ninja' Brady. The transgender fighter, who goes by they/she/them/her pronouns, threw down the gauntlet and challenged Shields to a fight in Mike Perry's budding fight promotion, Dirty Boxing Championship.
In one of her more recent fights against men, Brady fought under the Rough N' Rowdy Promotions and lost to Spencer Abel (1-5) via a unanimous decision after three one-minute rounds.

Shields posted about the challenge on X, saying:
"They always call me me out but never show up to actually fight"
Non-Binary Ninja calls out Jake Shields: "Maybe I could teach you a lesson"
Appearing in Mike Perry's podcast, Overdogs, on YouTube, Summer Brady admitted that she never truly wanted to compete with women in combat sports. Perry then suggested Jake Shields, who has gone on record to say that he wants to fight a transgender opponent.
This put a smile on Brady's face as Perry added that Shields' striking "sucks" and that it would be a perfect match-up for her in boxing. 'Platinum' then asked 'Non-Binary Ninja' to cut a promo to the former UFC fighter on camera.
Brady said:
"Jake Shields. I would love to fight you in Dirty Boxing. I know you got some grappling, I know you talk a lot about people like me. And I know you apologized. But maybe I could teach you a lesson, if I knock you out in Dirty Boxing. And maybe you would learn that you don't have to just call me a man or a male - because yeah, I'm a man. I was born as one. I'm a male."
Brady continued:
"But I am also a f**king non-binary transhuman. In fact, many would call me a transwoman - they are both the same thing at the same time... So, I'm a fan of you Jake. But how about if I win in Dirty Boxing, you have to start calling trans women trans women."
