Jamahal Hill took to his X account in an attempt to "piss some haters off".

In January 2023, Hill defeated Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision to claim the vacant UFC light heavyweight world title. Unfortunately, 'Sweet Dreams' couldn't defend his title after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon, forcing him to vacate the throne without another fight.

Hill returned 15 months later to face Alex Pereira, who secured the world title in his absence. The American light heavyweight came up short in his attempt to regain the crown, with Pereira emerging victorious by first-round knockout at UFC 300.

Since then, Hill has continuously battled with MMA fans who have been disrespectful about his loss against Pereira. Earlier today, 'Sweet Dreams' posted a throwback image on X of himself wearing UFC gold and added the following caption:

Jamahal Hill attempted to fight twice in 2024 following his defeat against Alex Pereira in April. First, Hill's matchup against Khalil Rountree Jr. was canceled because the latter tested positive for a banned substance.

Hill was re-booked for the same UFC 303 event against Carlos Ulberg. The former light heavyweight champion pulled out due to a knee injury, postponing his bounce-back fight to 2025.

Jamahal Hill looks to make a strong statement at UFC 311

Jamahal Hill maintains a strong presence in the UFC light heavyweight title picture, especially considering his rivalry with Alex Pereira. Before securing a title shot, the 33-year-old must prove he's worthy of another chance to face Pereira.

On Jan. 18, Hill will be featured on the UFC 311 pay-per-view main card. 'Sweet Dreams' has been booked to face former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka, who's currently ranked number two in the division.

Heading into UFC 311, Prochazka is coming off his second loss against Pereira, which went down at UFC 303 in June 2024.

UFC 311 goes down inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. The promotion's first pay-per-view event features two title fights - Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan 2 (lightweight main event) and Merab Dvalishvili vs. Umar Nurmagomedov (bantamweight co-main event).
