Jamahal Hill is set to face Glover Teixeira in the main event of UFC 283 in a title fight for the vacant light heavyweight strap. Going by the nickname 'Sweet Dreams' professionally, the mercurial title challenger is certainly not someone his opponents take lightly.
Interestingly, it appears the nickname was inspired by one of the world's most popular singers. Hill recently opened up about why he chose the term 'Sweet Dreams' as a moniker.
In a recent interview posted by @espnmma on Instagram, Jamahal Hill was asked about the origins of his nickname. The 31-year-old talked about how the popular track 'Sweet Dreams' by Beyonce inspired the moniker right before his debut fight.
Hill stated:

"In 2010 I was fighting my first amateur fight and I didn't have a nickname. We were sitting down... Filling out the paperwork, they asked for a fight name... I'm sitting here trying to think and then the Beyonce song, "You can be a sweet dream or a beautiful nightmare," came on and one of my teammates was like, "You should be sweet dreams." It kinda stuck from there... The universe provided it."

Jamahal Hill predicts the outcome of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Islam Makhachev
Jamahal Hill has given his opinion on who he thinks will walk away with the lightweight strap and the pound-for-pound No.1 crown come February 12.
As Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski gear up to throw down at UFC 284 at the RAC Arena in Australia, Hill believes that the Australian will have the upper hand despite claiming that Dagestani fighters are 'different'.
In an interview with James Lynch, Jamahal Hill broke down the upcoming lightweight title fight and stated:
"I'm gonna be honest with you, I don't like betting against Islam. Those dudes are different, when they get on top of you it's clearly f***ing different. I like Volk... to me, he's the pound-for-pound best... I don't think Islam's ever fought anybody that fast."
"I think Volk can get up, stay moving, stay light on his feet, striking and walking him into some traps and clock him... I'm probably leaning towards Volk."
