Bo Nickal's UFC debut against Jamie Pickett was a lightning-quick affair. The UFC 285 main card opener was wrapped up in the first round itself by Nickal as he showcased his ability on the canvas.

For most of the bout, Nickal controlled Pickett on the ground and was dominant. However, the strike that led to the takedown is being scrutinized for being too low. Just half a minute into the fight, Nickal seemingly landed a knee on Pickett's groin that helped him take down his opponent.

USA Today's Nolan King reported that Pickett's manager LaMont Chappell will be appealing the result of the fight on behalf of Jamie Pickett with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Their case will argue that the illegal low blow led to the takedown and ultimately the arm-triangle choke submission.

"Jamie Pickett's manager LaMont Chappell tells me they will be appealing the result of the Bo Nickal fight with the NSAC, citing a low blow directly led to the takedown and finish. #UFC285"

Bo Nickal responded to the allegations during his post-fight press conference appearance and denied making contact with Pickett illegally.

"I didn't hit him low at all. Weird move, bro."

Bo Nickal makes ambitious assertion of becoming the champion and pound-for-pound No.1

Bo Nickal's wrestling resume is second to none, however, throughout his brief time in mixed martial arts, he has proven to be formidable and has seamlessly integrated his grappling strength into the octagon.

'The Allen Assassin' spoke about feeling at home after getting his debut win in the UFC octagon in his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan. He said:

"Man, I feel like [I am] home. I've been training my whole life for this. I feel like I was born, bred [and] I train every day to come out here and dominate. And that's what I did."

Nickal went on to state his desire to keep improving inside the octagon while claiming he will secure championship gold and end his career as the "No.1 fighter" in the sport.

"I'm 4-0, I'm only 27.... I've been doing MMA for only a year and a half and I'm in the main card of a UFC pay-per-view. That's insane. I'm going to keep getting better, dominate, and you bet your a*s I'm getting that belt and I will be pound-for-pound No.1 fighter by the time my career is done."
