Jamahal Hill has not competed since April when he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 300. He appeared set to return against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 303, however, his opponent was pulled from the card after self-reporting that he unknowingly took a banned substance. 'Sweet Dreams' eventually also withdrew from the card due to injury.
The No. 3-ranked light heavyweight recently stated that he has been offered an opponent for his return and that a contract is on the way. Championship Rounds shared his comments on X:
"Jamahal Hill says he's been offered a fight and the contract is "on the way". "Contract is already on the way, name has already hit the desk... class will be in session soon." [via. YT / @JamahalH] #UFC #MMA"

Khalil Rountree Jr. labels Jamahal Hill clash as inevitable
Khalil Rountree suffered a fourth-round TKO loss at UFC 307 as he challenged Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title. 'The War Horse' recently said that he will return to the octagon early next year before labeling a clash with Jamahal Hill inevitable.
Speaking to Kevin Iole, the No. 8-ranked light heavyweight was asked about rebooking the bout. He responded:
"Yeah, absolutely. I think it's almost inevitable, right? I think he's ranked No. 3. I think anyone up there in the top five is kind of inevitable so let's see what happens. I think pretty shortly here I'll be talking to the matchmakers and the bosses and see what they think."
Check out Khalil Rountree's comments on facing Jamahal Hill below (12:42):
The pair were scheduled to clash at UFC 303 earlier this year, but both fighters ultimately did not compete on the card. While Rountree did not move up in the rankings, his impressive showing against Pereira will likely ensure that he receives a big opportunity in his return to the octagon.
