Janet Todd is backing Jackie Buntan to come out on top in her ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video matchup with Diandra Martin on May 5th.
‘JT’ is currently gearing up for her own return to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 8. She will try to unify her ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai World Championship with current world titleholder Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in the co-main event of the evening.
Before welcoming Rodrigues back, Todd sat down with ONE Championship. She shared her thoughts on the upcoming May Muay Thai showdown between Jackie Buntant and Australian standout Diandra Martin:
“Jackie's always fought all our girls and used her footwork to her advantage to make them miss and pay,’ Todd said. “So I believe she can do the same thing, use her footwork to get her into optimal position so that she can use her hands. She has a lot of power in those hooks in her hands. I'm sure she'll get to the positions she needs to be on top of the strikes.”

Jackie Buntan will go into the bout with eyes on scoring her 25th career victory. She currently sits at 4-1 inside the Circle, her lone loss coming against striking prodigy Smilla Sundell for the ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai world title at ONE 156 last April.
Martin enters the match seeking her second-straight win inside the Circle after a unanimous decision win over Amber Kitchen in August.
While Buntan will have to wait a little longer for her time to shine inside the Circle, Janet Todd is less than a week away from her long-awaited showdown with the returning Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
Janet Todd has made the most of her extra time to prepare for Allycia Hellen Rodrigues
It has been more than two and a half years since Allycia Hellen Rodrigues stepped foot inside the Circle. Shortly after capturing the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world title with a brilliant performance against Stamp Fairtex, Rodrigues revealed shortly after that she had become pregnant.
Since then, Janet Todd has gone on an unstoppable run, earning impressive wins over Ekaterina Vandaryeva, Alma Juniku, Anne Line Hogstad, and Lara Fernandez. In the process, ‘JT’ was crowned the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world champion and is now on the cusp of turning her interim world title into an undisputed one.
Speaking to the promotion, Janet Todd spoke about the extra time she has had to prepare for a matchup with Rodrigues. She also added how she believes it will prove to be an advantage come Friday night at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Janet Todd, who also owns the ONE atomweight kickboxing world championship, said:
“I think that time has helped me hone some skills that would work against Allycia. But it also allowed me to work more of the creative side of my brain, so that when I do get in a certain situation, I can flow from one movement to the next. So it allows me to move more freely, knowing I have more tools to work with.”
ONE Fight Night 8 will go down on March 24th, US primetime, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
