Janet Todd believes ONE Championship’s U.S. debut will re-introduce Americans to the concept of mutual respect between combatants.
On May 5, the promotion will make its long-awaited debut in North America as ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video heads to the 1stBank Center in Colorado. The historic event will be headlined by a ONE flyweight world title trilogy bout between reigning champion Demetrious Johnson and former titleholder Adriano Moraes.
Sharing her thoughts on the event, Janet Todd believes that ONE Fight Night 10 will remind fans that fights can be exciting and competitive when there is mutual respect between the fighters compared to other organizations that rely on trash-talking and Jerry Springer-style antics to sell their product:
“I hope people can see that aspect of the sport and not see more of the trash-talking. You want athletes that people can look up to. You want them to represent good values like that. I'm sure that card is going to represent really good athletes and show that you can be respectful and still be a beast in the Circle.”

Fans have a few more weeks before ONE heads to the mainland, but this Friday night, the promotion will present another stacked lineup featuring a massive ONE atomweight Muay Thai title unification bout.
American Janet Todd has held down the division as the interim atomweight world champion, but reigning titleholder Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is ready to assume her spot on the throne after a two-and-a-half-year absence.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues plans to make a statement against Janet Todd
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues may have been on the sidelines for the last 31 months, but that hasn’t stopped her from staying busy and staying in shape. The Brazilian even revealed a video clip of her sparring while sporting a very prominent baby bump. Now the mother of a beautiful baby boy,
Rodrigues is ready to resume her reign as the promotion’s atomweight queen in the art of eight limbs.
Rodrigues, of course, knows that she has a tough task ahead of her. Janet Todd has ruled over the division in her absence with an iron fist. In an interview with Combat Press, Rodrigues acknowledged the skills of ‘JT’ but in the end, believes she will stand over the American victoriously on Friday night:
“Janet is a dangerous fighter. She has good punches and kicks and is very fast. I think she’s a great striker, but I’m used to that kind of pressure. We’re going to fight Muay Thai, and here in Thailand we clinch a lot every day. That’s something I’m definitely going to take advantage of over her."
She added:
“I’m going to knock her out. I believe we’ll exchange some blows in the first and second rounds, but the intention is to press from the beginning in search of the knockout.”
