Janet Todd reveals the women fighters who have inspired her along the way
'JT' is hoping to inspire women along her combat sports journey. She recently revealed who inspired her to become a champion in women's combat sport, telling ONE Championship:
“Tiffany van Soest. There's Miriam Nakamoto that actually put American Muay Thai on the map for us and really led the way for Tiffany and me and Jackie. So, yeah, those are just a bunch. Gina Carano too. There's a bunch of women that have really helped us get to the world stage today. I'm thankful for them to preset the path for us.”
The 37-year-old has won an impressive seven straight bouts into her upcoming title unification bout. Todd has scored stoppage victories over Wang Chin Long, Ekaterina Vandaryeva, and Anne Line Hogstad.
Meanwhile, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is a highly-touted 24-year-old who is making her return to action after taking time off to give birth to her first child. The Brazilian amassed 30-5 record between Brazil and Thailand prior to signing with ONE.
Make sure to tune in to ONE Fight Night 8 on March 25 to see Janet Todd and Allycia Hellen Rodrigues unify the women's atomweight Muay Thai world title, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
All of the action can be broadcast live and for free across North America to Amazon Prime subscribers.
