Two-sport ONE world champion Janet Todd is keeping her blinders on ahead of her atomweight Muay Thai world title unification bout with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
The long-awaited clash between arguably the two best female strikers in the world finally takes place at ONE Fight Night 8: Superlek vs Williams on Prime Video on March 24 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
‘JT’, who also lords over the atomweight kickboxing ranks, recently addressed questions about defending two golden belts if she manages to beat Rodrigues this coming Friday.
While thinking about the future excites the American, she has developed tunnel vision in the meantime and wants to focus on the task at hand. Todd said during the ONE Fight Night 8 press conference:

“I want to defend both the Muay Thai and kickboxing [belts]. I don’t really have an opponent in mind right now. I’m just focused on what’s in front of me, which is, you know, Allycia for the world title.”
Todd’s mindset of focusing solely on Rodrigues is certainly a wise choice. After all, she’ll have to get past an absolute Muay Thai wrecking machine in order to shake off the interim tag in her atomweight Muay Thai world title.
Back in her promotional debut in 2020, Rodrigues crushed the mighty Stamp Fairtex to become the undisputed queen of the division. The dangerous Brazilian then took lengthy time off after the birth of her first son.
A rejuvenated Rodrigues is definitely a scary sight for anyone, even for the talented Boxing Works standout.
Todd and Rodrigues were initially booked to butt heads last year, but the match was delayed after ‘JT’s unfortunate COVID-19 positive test.
Now back to 100 percent, Todd wants to solidify her place among the best fighters in the promotion's history, and that road begins against Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 8.
