Japanese star Kana Morimoto is excited now that she is part of ONE Championship, but knows too well that she has to step up her game to make a successful run in the 'Home of Martial Arts.' The 32-year-old former K-1 standout made this known in an interview with the Bangkok Post, where she spoke about her decision to take her talents to ONE.
'Silver Wolf' said:
"Honestly, my opinion is that ONE has a higher level of fighters in terms of striking, compared to K-1. That fact is, former K-1 fighters like Takeru [Segawa] and Masaaki Noiri unfortunately both lost their debuts in ONE -- it shows how high the level in ONE is."

"I see that reality, and my goal is to adjust myself to this level and also showcase how strong I am."
At K-1, Kana was a champion flyweight kickboxer. She currently holds a professional record of 22-4, with 11 of her victories coming by way of knockout. Her most recent match came last December.
There is no word yet on when the Matsusaka native will make her ONE debut but she has made it clear that she is eyeing the ONE atomweight kickboxing world title, which is currently held by reigning divisional queen Phetjeeja.
Kana looking to take martial arts journey to a higher level in ONE
Kana Morimoto has already accomplished a lot in her martial arts career but wants to continue to build on it now that she is part of ONE Championship.
She made this clear upon signing with ONE last month, taking to Instagram to announce her decision to switch from K-1 and the reason for it. She wrote on her post:
"I signed with ONE Championship. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Again I start here. The goal is to become a champion. Thank you to all involved. Thank you for your continued support. ONE Championship Athlete KANA."
Kana is the latest Japanese kickboxing star to join ONE Championship, following Takeru Segawa and Masaaki Noiri, who both made their promotional debuts this year.
