Japanese kickboxing superstar 'Krusher Queen' Kana Morimoto is ready to make her debut in ONE Championship a successful one. And she believes a resounding victory in the world's largest martial arts organization could book her a shot at the most prestigious bit of gold in her sport -- the ONE world title.

Morimoto is gearing up to make her promotional start in ONE and wants to use her first performance to book a title shot against atomweight kickboxing queen Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom.

Speaking to the Bangkok Post in a recent interview, Morimoto says she doesn't expect to draw Phetjeeja in her ONE debut, but she's willing to work herself up toward a world title shot.

'Krusher Queen' said:

"It depends on the matchmakers, but the reality is I will not get Phetjeeja on my debut."

'The Queen' Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom is the reigning and undisputed ONE women's atomweight kickboxing world champion. The 22-year-old Thai star and Team Mehdi Zatout standout is unbeaten in ONE Championship.

She joined the world's largest martial arts organization in March 2023 and already has a handful of big victories, most notably over Lara Fernandez, Anissa Meksen, and Janet Todd.

Meanwhile, Morimoto is a former K-1 women's flyweight champion and one of Japan's most decorated female martial artists. She is expected for her ONE debut sometime later this year.

Kana Morimoto says she is excited to compete among the world's best: "ONE has a higher level of fighters"

'Krusher Queen' Kana Morimoto came to ONE Championship for one reason, and that's to face the world's best fighters in her chosen discipline.

ONE Championship is known for its deep roster of elite striking talents, and Morimoto wants to test herself against them.

She told Bangkok Post:

"Honestly, my opinion is that ONE has a higher level of fighters in terms of striking, compared to K-1. The fact is, former K-1 fighters like Takeru and Masaaki Noiri unfortunately both lost their debuts in ONE – it shows how high the level in ONE is."
