Takeru Segawa continues to prove that he's a champion inside and outside the ring.
The Japanese superstar pledged his purse for his upcoming kickboxing super fight against Rodtang Jitmuangnon to build a school in Laos.
ONE Championship announced the development on its Instagram page.
Takeru will face off against the former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion in a highly anticipated showdown in the main event of ONE 172 on March 23 at the historic Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

On ONE Championship's post, Takeru Segawa said:
"I have a fight against Rodtang, so I want to use that fight money to build another school in Laos."
The former three-division K-1 Kickboxing world champion previously visited Laos over the Christmas holidays when he donated school supplies and paid for the installation of water purification systems.
His recent trip to Laos, however, wasn't the first time Takeru has been involved in charity drives.
Takeru is the 7th Generation Tiger Mask, a professional wrestling and anime persona who spearheads a foundation of the same name which donates to schools and orphanages in Japan and other parts of Asia.
In 2023, Takeru visited Vietnam to help build a school as part of his responsibilities as the current Tiger Mask.
Takeru is arguably the greatest kickboxer in Japanese history, and his influence could reach even greater heights if he overcomes Rodtang in their ONE 172 super fight in Japan.

Takeru Segawa is determined to put on the best possible performance of his storied career when he steps between the ropes against Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE 172.
The pair of modern-day legends were originally set to square off in the main event of ONE 165 in January 2024, but Rodtang pulled out of the match after breaking his hand in training camp.
Nevertheless, Takeru and Rodtang are finally set to clash in one of Japan's most hallowed grounds.
Takeru told Nick Atkin in a recent interview:
"It's been a while [for this fight]. I've been waiting for this fight to happen, and I'm very excited for this March. I'm going to put everything in this fight."
