The highly anticipated showdown between Jaron Ennis and David Avanesyan is set to take place this Saturday (July 13) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Ennis is scheduled to defend his IBF welterweight title in a 12-round bout.

'Boots' was originally slated to face mandatory challenger Cody Crowley. However, the undefeated Canadian had to withdraw last month due to not being medically cleared following double eye surgery in November.

Ennis is making his long-awaited return to the squared circle after a year-long hiatus. His last appearance was marked by a spectacular 10th-round knockout victory over Roiman Villa in July 2023.

Over the past few years, the 27-year-old American has built an impressive resume, securing victories against formidable opponents such as Sergey Lipinets, Thomas Dulorme, Custio Clayton, and Karen Chukhadzhian. His bout with Chukhadzhian was for the IBF interim belt.

However, Terence Crawford subsequently won the full IBF title from Errol Spence but has since vacated it. As a result, Ennis has been elevated to the full champion, and this upcoming fight will mark his first title defense.

Meanwhile, for Avanesyan, this marks his second shot at a world title. His first attempt ended in a sixth-round knockout defeat by Terence Crawford during their WBO welterweight title bout in December 2022. Following that setback, 'Ava' made a comeback last November with a fourth-round TKO victory over Serge Ambomo.

In 2016, Avanesyan triumphed over a past-his-prime Hall of Famer, Shane Mosley, to claim the WBA interim welterweight title. He was subsequently elevated to full champion status but lost his first title defense to Lamont Peterson in February 2017 by decision.

The fight card broadcast is set to begin at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on Saturday, July 13, in the United States. For viewers in the United Kingdom, the start time will be 12 AM GMT on Sunday, July 14.

The main event ring walks are expected to commence around 10:37 PM ET/7:37 PM PT in the United States, translating to 2:37 AM GMT in the United Kingdom. However, these timings are subject to change based on the duration of the undercard bouts.

The boxers' entrances are a crucial element of high-profile matches, offering a dramatic prelude that captivates the audience and sets an electrifying tone for the event. Although the walkout songs for Ennis and Avanesyan are currently kept under wraps, we can explore the tracks they have selected for their previous entrances.
