Former ONE strawweight MMA king Jarred Brooks was humbled in recent defeat, but ready to bounce back.

Jarred Brooks can be considered a tough nut to break, but even when he breaks, he never loses his hope and determination. He showed how strong his mentality was when he had to accept a disqualification and lost his golden belt in a rematch with his archenemy Joshua Pacio. But after that, he didn't stop in his pursuit of greatness.

Now, 'The Monkey God' is set to claim the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title when he faces Cuba's Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.

But even so, he also saw other possibilities while he is striving to be the best version of himself, as he told FightWave recently in an interview.

Brooks said:

"I think that the Mikey fight, grappling match or whatever, that’s a big thing which helped me get better as a mixed martial artist. So, finding that fine-tune in that realm is all that matters. And like I said, I’m coming into this place to be humbled, bro. Like, I want to get better, and the only way to get better is if you get your *ss beat."

Knowing that a loss will only mean improvements for Brooks, the main event fight inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium will definitely be a barnburner for the fans.

Jarred Brooks wants to snap two losing skid and face Joshua Pacio to unify the belts

Jarred Brooks is coming in hot after his two-fight losing streak, where he was submitted by Mikey Musumeci in August 2023 and suffered a disqualification opposite his archenemy Joshua Pacio at ONE 166: Qatar after an unintentional head spike.

Now, he will face the Cuban powerhouse Gustavo Balart in a match to secure the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title and a chance to unify the belts with Pacio.

Slated for the main event of ONE Fight Night 24 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this will be a determining factor for the division's progress as Pacio recovers from his ACL injury.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and free in U.S. primetime to Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
