Jarred Brooks expects Gustavo Balart to take a more defensive approach when the two strawweight stars square off inside the Circle on August 2.
Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, 'The Monkey God' will look to once again claim a ONE world title less than five months removed from his stunning DQ loss to Joshua Pacio at ONE 166 in Qatar.
This time around, Brooks will meet the streaking Cuban standout at ONE Fight Night 24 on Prime Video as the two tussle to crown an interim ONE strawweight MMA world champion.

Ahead of their highly anticipated clash in the Mecca of Muay Thai, Jarred Brooks offered his thoughts on Gustavo Balart's style compared to that of the division's undisputed world champion, Joshua Pacio.
"The difference between Joshua Pacio is him being more offensive and Balart is more of a defensive to offensive," Brooks said in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA. "So, I think I’m gonna use my wrestling even though he’s going to try and wrestle me more."
Gustavo Balart will have to go through Jarred Brooks to achieve his dream
While Jarred Brooks is fighting to once again feel the weight of 26 pounds of gold around his waist, Gustavo Balart is attempting to climb to the top of the mountain for the first time in his career.
The clock is undeniably winding down on the 37-year-old Cuban, but you certainly wouldn't know it based on his last four performances inside the Circle. 'El Gladiador' has earned noteworthy wins against the likes of Ryuto Sawada, Yosuke Saruta, and Alex Silva—though his biggest win came against Japanese star Hiroba Minowa in January.
The victory solidified Balart as the third-ranked contender in the strawweight MMA division, setting the stage for his scrap with 'The Monkey God' in Thailand.
ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 24 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, August 2.
