Jarred Brooks can't wait to see Kade Ruotolo and Mikey Musumeci step into the spotlight at ONE 168: Denver for one of the biggest submission grappling matches in promotional history.

Emanating from Ball Arena in The Mile High City—Denver, Colorado—reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci will move up three weight classes to challenge lightweight submission grappling king Kade Ruotolo in a bid to become the promotion's first-ever two-division submission grappling titleholder.

Brooks, a man who knows a thing or two about competing in world title fights, is excited to see Ruotolo and 'Darth Rigatoni' test their skills against one another on one of the biggest cards of the year.

“I love both of those guys they have a great martial arts mindset," Brooks said in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA. "They put on shows everywhere they go. They display their world-class skills in ONE Championship. They display it everywhere. And this is why they thoroughly deserve this match.”

Jarred Brooks has to go through Gustavo Balart if he wants a third fight with Joshua Pacio

Before ONE Championship heads back to the United States in September, the promotion will return to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand for a loaded ONE Friday Fights 24 card, headlined by an interim ONE strawweight MMA title fight between the first and third-ranked contenders in the division, Jarred Brooks and Gustavo Balart.

Brooks will look to once again wrap 26 pounds of gold around his waist after surrendering the undisputed strawweight MMA world title to Joshua Pacio at ONE 166 due to an unfortunate disqualification in the opening minute of their long-awaited rematch.

The DQ occurred less than 60 seconds into the scrap when 'The Monkey God' inadvertently spiked Pacio on the top of his head during a takedown attempt, prompting referee Herb Dean to stop the bout.

Since then, Brooks has been chomping at the bit to run it back with 'The Passion' for a third time. If he can squash the four-fight win streak of Gustavo Balart on August 2, he will all but guarantee himself a future date with Joshua Pacio on martial arts' biggest global stage.

ONE Championship fans in the United States and Canada can watch ONE Fight Night 24 live and for free via Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime on Friday, August 2.
