Jarred Brooks talked about his favorite rap music and although there’s one in particular that stands out, he says he digs all kinds of rap.
Besides being a full-time MMA fighter, Brooks also has a flair for creating and producing his own rap music. ‘The Monkey God’ gets a lot of inspiration from his all-time favorite rapper Eminem, whom he often manifests to create authentic content fans can relate to.
Ahead of his epic world title clash with Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 this Saturday, December 3, Brooks took some reprieve from talking about the fight to discuss what type of rap music he’s into in this day and age.
He told The MMA Superfan:

"Everything. It doesn’t matter. Don’t get me wrong, SoundCloud rapping does get annoying after a minute. There’s nothing like some good old MF Doom, the old-school old-heads Talib Kweli, Mos Def.”

Jarred Brooks believes he has the edge as “Team Lakay has had trouble with their grappling in the past”
Jarred Brooks didn’t pull back the punches when he talked about Team Lakay’s struggles in the grappling department.
There's been a year-long beef between Brooks and Joshua Pacio’s corner, Team Lakay, since ‘The Monkey God’ defeated Pacio’s stablemate Lito Adiwang in November 2021.
Brooks claimed their method of training is too old school and that they needed to catch up with the times.
At the ONE 164 press conference recently, ‘The Monkey God’ was asked if he had the edge over Pacio. He responded with:
“I think my edge is clearly the wrestling and the grappling. Team Lakay has had trouble with their grappling in the past and I’m definitely going to show that. I know that they have an Iranian coach… yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s alright. Hey I’m used to it at the end of the day. Everybody wants to hate on ‘The Monkey God?’ That’s all good, because guess who’s bringing that f***-ing belt back to the United States of America?”
