Jarred Brooks wants to prove he's a genuine article with a shock upset over ranked flyweight contender Reece McLaren at ONE Fight Night 26.
The American superstar is bound for Bangkok, Thailand on Dec. 6 to begin his quest for two-division gold, after securing the interim ONE strawweight MMA world champion this past August.
The climb back to the top was no easy task for the 31-year-old champ, who lost his world title via disqualification against his longest foe, Joshua Pacio earlier this year. But it was the drive he needed to push himself beyond his strengths to unlock another level of MMA.
That's why Brooks believes he's got the higher ground as a full-fledged mixed martial artist; there's absolutely no fear behind the decision to fight for two-division glory.

Speaking to The MMA Superfan, Jarred Brooks said:
"Who the hell is Reece McLaren to me? I'm going to go out there and I'm going to show the whole world that it doesn't matter what size you are, it doesn't matter how you came up, or where you're at in the game, you can go in and shock the world, and that's what I want to do. I want to shock the world and be like holy sh**, Jarred Brooks, he is the real deal."
"I climb the mountains" - Jarred Brooks wants to be the epitome of what an MMA GOAT looks like
There's no denying how passionate Jarred Brooks is about becoming the next MMA great.
After following Demetrious Johnson's storied career, Brooks says he's also on a mission to be on ONE Championship's Mount Rushmore. But at the end of the day, if you can't take risks in your career, talent or skills alone won't get you where you want to be.
As Brooks said in a past interview with ONE, there are few people like him in the sport who are unafraid of challenges, naturally, it's in his blood to succeed.
"I'm somebody that tries to go up and beat competition. I climb the mountains, and I'm not worried. I know that GOATS are really good at climbing mountains too."
