'The Monkey God' Jarred Brooks will be fighting in physical peak form when he meets 'The Passion' Joshua Pacio for the ONE strawweight world championship at ONE 164. The American athlete spoke with The MMA Superfan and explained how ready he is for the December 3 showdown:
"I was ready June third, but didn’t just go through. We’ve just been fine-tuning and just making sure that we stay in shape. I’m in the best shape of my life right now."
'The Monkey God' will be coming into this world title fight unbeaten in ONE Championship. Standing in his way is the reigning ONE strawweight king Joshua Pacio. 'The Passion' has defended his throne in three bouts and will be competing in front of a home audience as this fight is hosted in Manila, Philippines.

Jared Brooks added that facing Pacio on December 3 at ONE 164 may be his best performance to date. 'The Monkey God' continued:
“I don’t think anybody has seen the best version of me at all yet. Like Kamaru Usman said in that Demian Maia fight. He’s like, ‘You haven’t seen 30 percent of what I can do’. It’s just depending on what your canvas is. Joshua Pacio is a hell of a canvas, don’t get me wrong, but I’m willing to go out there and show my heart against him.”

The US-born wrestler has been slicing through his competition in ONE Championship. Brooks has defeated Bokang Masunyane, Hiroba Minowa, and Pacio's training partner, Lito Adiwang, in near-flawless performances. After each bout, 'The Moneky God' would call out the champion Joshua Pacio.
The Filipino-born Pacio is not happy with the trash talk coming from the American wrestler. In an interview with ONE Championship, 'The Passion' explained that he was born to fight and added:
“Jarred Brooks, you’ve never fought somebody like me. This is my division. I’m not even at my peak, and I’m the best in the world. That’s a scary thing for Jarred Brooks. You will lose because of your arrogance.”
