Jarred Brooks proved himself to be a serious threat ever since he signed with ONE Championship and debuted in 2021.
'The Monkey God' produced a four-fight win streak that took him all the way to the top, defeating Joshua Pacio at ONE 164 in 2022 to become the ONE strawweight world champion.
Though things have not been quite as smooth since then due to his disqualification loss at ONE 166, Brooks is still as motivated as ever.
A big reason for that is a huge change that has taken place in his life during his time as a ONE Championship athlete.

'The Monkey God' is now the proud father of a young daughter and this has completely changed his world view.
Ahead of his return at ONE Fight Night 26 where he will make his flyweight debut against Reece McLaren, Brooks spoke about how much this means to him in a fight week interview with the Bangkok Post:
"Naomi is amazing. She's growing and growing and growing and it's so satisfying to see her just developing and finding me as a father and finding my wife and confidant. It's really hard to talk about without getting emotional. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me and she's the main reason why I'm fighting."

Jarred Brooks wasn't short on motivation in the first place
When Jarred Brooks first arrived in ONE Championship, it was clear that he was already an incredibly driven competitor who was looking to challenge himself.
A lot has changed for the interim ONE strawweight world champion in recent times, including this move up to flyweight.
Moving up a weight class is a big task for him, but Brooks is confident that he can prove himself to be an elite contender once again.
Beating McLaren at Lumpinee Stadium on December 6 will do just that.
