Jarred Brooks says Joshua Pacio is “second on the list” behind Demetrious Johnson in his proverbial hit sheet

Jarred Brooks has again lit a fire back on his rivalry with the current divisional ruler Joshua Pacio, but the American is putting his old nemesis second. After claiming the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title over Gustavo Balart in the main event of ONE Fight Night 24, Brooks will inevitably unify the belts with Pacio.

However, the latter is still recovering from his ACL injury. In his post-fight interview with ONE Championship, he shared his perspective on the unification fight against Pacio:

"Do I think that I would finish Joshua Pacio this time? 100 percent. I'm sorry that happened this past fight. And the people that say that I did that on purpose. It's like, oh, okay, you don't know how much money I just lost. You have no idea how much the belt meant to me and how much that meant to my family."

And although Brooks is not looking past the Filipino star, he is now putting him second on his hit list while aiming for the MMA GOAT Demetrious Johnson:

"So, let's run that back in a good way, good fashion, but at the same time, he's second on my list. I do want to bury his name. But yeah, Josh, he's second on the list, compared to Demetrious Johnson."

Jarred Brooks takes lessons from his victory over Gustavo Balart

The ONE interim strawweight MMA king Jarred Brooks will be able to take more valuable lessons after he submitted former Cuban Olympian Gustavo Balart.

While Brooks was unable to showcase his improvements in the striking department, he repeatedly took down the wrestler before securing the early finish.

This goes to say that 'The Monkey God' has almost perfect timing and techniques on his takedown, which eliminates the need for a strong striking game against his opponents.

It is possible that we would be able to see him use more of his striking when he unifies the belts with his old rival Joshua Pacio, or engage in an all out war with MMA GOAT Demetrious Johnson.
