Surging UFC featherweight fighter Jean Silva throws his bane in the hat as Movsar Evloev scrambles to find a new opponent at UFC 307 next month. Evloev's original opponent, former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, pulled out just less than three weeks before the fight.

Evloev took to X to express his initial thoughts on the matter, saying:

"I see Aljamain announced on his YouTube channel that he is out of the fight. I’ve been training for 4 months and would like to stay on this card and fight anybody, I’m not sure if the UFC can find someone to fight me but I worked really hard for this fight"

Seeing this, former UFC welterweight title challenger and Jiu-jitsu icon Gilbert 'Durinho' Burns reposted the tweet, tagging Jean Silva, and suggesting he jumps at the opportunity. Silva then replied with:

"Let’s go, 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥"

Silva might be the perfect fit as a replacement. 'Lord' was last seen in action in July, knocking out Drew Dober in the third round. Like with Evloev, the Dober fight was also a short-notice fight, suggesting the Brazilian is not afraid of taking risky match-ups. He is also on an 11-fight winning streak, with four straight wins in the UFC.

Jean Silva did a two-week turnaround to knock Drew Dober out at UFC on ESPN 59

Who takes on a dangerous UFC lightweight KO artist after just fighting two weeks prior? Back on June 29 of this year, the Fighting Nerds standout, Jean Silva, knocked out Charles Jourdain at UFC 303. Just two weeks later, on July 13, he was slugging it out with Drew Dober in a lightweight contest at UFC on ESPN 59.

Dober's original opponent, Mike Davis, pulled out of the bout due to a torn bicep. In a Fight of the Night-worthy battle, Dober and Silva went to war, hurting each other on multiple occasions. In the third round, after nearly ending Dober's night in the previous round, Silva landed a crushing spinning back elbow that worsened an already bad cut above his opponent's right eye.

Referee Herb Dean put a stop to the contest after the ringside physician declared Dober unfit to continue due to the cut. Silva was declared the winner via TKO.
