Jeremy Miado appreciates the fact that newly crowned ONE strawweight world champion Jarred Brooks recognizes him as a potential world title contender.
'The Jaguar' earned his fourth straight victory inside the circle at ONE on Prime Video 3, defeating Danial Williams via third-round knockout. With six total wins under the ONE Championship banner, Miado has an impressive 100% finish rate, all by knockouts.
After his win over Williams in October, Jarred Brooks spoke about Miado’s emergence as a strawweight contender during an interview with MMA Sucka:
“I think that Jeremy Miado is on the cusp. He is very tough. I think that he has shown throughout the time that he’s been in ONE Championship that he can stay in that area. With one to two more wins with Jeremy Miado, he’s definitely getting a title shot, he’s on a three-knockout win streak so I’m looking forward to fighting somebody like Jeremy Miado.”

Miado responded to the praise from ‘The Monkey God’ in an interview with International Business Times, saying:
“I'm happy that he sees me as a contender because that means he appreciates that I've been in ONE for a long time, and it's only now that I've been putting wins together, so I think he appreciates that. I'm really happy because for me, he sees what I bring to the division. That's also why I'm working even harder, so that I can get a title shot.”
Before Jeremy Miado gets his shot, Jarred Brooks wants a crack at Demetrious Johnson
Before Jeremy Miado can get his shot at newly-crowned ONE strawweight world champion Jarred Brooks, ‘The Monkey God’ wants his own shot at one of the pound-for-pound greatest fighters of all time, Demetrious Johnson. Following his world title win over Joshua Pacio at ONE 164, Brooks called for a fight with Johnson:
"I mean, I would love to fight demetrious Johnson. That's like, a dream come true to me. So Demetrious, I have the utmost respect for you. You're the best ever. I would love to share the circle with you."
Jarred Brooks followed up on his post-fight comments during the ONE 164 post-fight press conference:
"You got to beat that dude at his own game, at the end of the day. And Demetrious [Johnson] is very fast and very agile, and he’s super strong too. I think I have a little bit more power on the feet, though. I can show him things that he’s never been involved with in the sport."
