Filipino strawweight fighter Jeremy Miado was among those disappointed when compatriot Denice Zamboanga's title showdown against ONE atomweight MMA queen Stamp Fairtex did not push through earlier this month. He, however, believes that the postponement should benefit 'The Menace' in the end.

Zamboanga was supposed to challenge Stamp for the world title at ONE 167 on June 7 until the Thai superstar injured her knee in training and she had to pull out weeks before they battled.

The T-Rex Mixed Martial Arts Training Center representative still competed but against a different opponent Noelle Grandjean, which she won by unanimous decision.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Jeremy Miado shared his thoughts on the supposed fight between Zamboanga and Stamp, noting, among other things, that while the postponement was unfortunate, the Filipina fighter could use it to further work on her game and be even more prepared.

'The Jaguar' said:

"Denice's advantage is her boxing and wrestling. She's faster and her hand speed is also superior. I can say that fans will see a much better Denice Zamboanga. The fight has been delayed so she has more time to prepare and more time to improve. She's going to be a complete fighter by the time her match with Stamp happens, maybe later this year or early next year."

The win at ONE 167 was the third straight for Zamboanga. There is no word yet on when his title clash with Stamp would take place.

Jeremy Miado busying self for ONE Fight Night 23

While he keeps tabs on the goings-on in ONE Championship, Jeremy Miado is busy preparing for his upcoming fight next month.

The 31-year-old Filipino fighter is set for a strawweight MMA showdown against Japanese Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs Rasulov on Prime Video on July 5 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

There, Jeremy Miado will try to wiggle out of a three-fight skein and reset his push in the strawweight division.

Before losing three straight, Miado was on a tear, winning four consecutive matches, all coming by way of knockout.

ONE Fight Night 23 will be available live and for free to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
