Jiri Prochazka is currently sidelined following surgery to repair a shoulder injury that Dana White labeled as "the worst that the UFC doctors have ever seen." The No.1-ranked light heavyweight, who vacated his title following the injury, took time out of his rehab to sit down with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports.
During a rapidfire Q&A session, Prochazka shared details on his favorite Mortal Kombat character, stating:
"I like more of the characters so that's Scorpion, Kotal Kahn. There is that fast guy, Noob Saibot. There is a very good - yeah, of course Raiden and his brother, Fujin... Kung Lao."
The No.1-ranked light heavyweight was then asked why he is so fond of armadillos. He responded:

"In our Czech language, there is armadillo is pasovec, and the belt, UFC, doesn't matter which belt, UFC belt is just pas. So pasovec and pas in Czech language is very similar, yes? So, that's why I use that and like to be something like the belt."
Prochazka remains sidelined, however, there has been speculation that he will be ready to face the winner of the UFC 283 light heavyweight title fight between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill.

Jiri Prochazka opens up on decision to vacate light heavyweight title
Jiri Prochazka shocked fans of the UFC when chose to vacate his light heavyweight title following a shoulder injury that forced him to withdraw from UFC 282. Speaking to Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour, the No.1-ranked light heavyweight opened up on the decision, stating:
"That was a very hard thing for me. I don't want to talk about it a lot, but after talking with the UFC, with the directors of the UFC, I have to let the - show must go on. Show must go on and I respect it... For me, I want to stay the champion. It doesn't matter if I'm injured or doesn't matter what, but if it's the best for the light heavyweight division right now to make it better, for me it doesn't matter."
While the decision to vacate the light heavyweight title prior to his first title defense had to be tough, Prochazka is likely to receive a title opportunity when he is healthy. It remains to be seen how long he will be sidelined.
