Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill are set to collide in a highly anticipated light heavyweight showdown at UFC 311 on Jan 18.
The build-up to this fight has been fueled by a heated exchange between the two fighters. Hill, following his knockout loss to Alex Pereira, criticized Prochazka's performance against the same opponent. Hill claimed that the 32-year-old was "dominated" and "completely shut down."
Prochazka, however, has remained unfazed by Hill's verbal jabs. Despite the intense verbal sparring, Prochazka revealed a cordial encounter with Hill at the UFC Performance Institute. Speaking to Helen Yee, he said:
“He can say whatever. But like a few minutes back we met in PI and he is a normal person… I have nothing against any fighters. I don’t believe in trash talking. We met, I shake hands with him and he’s good.”

Luke Rockhold predicts Jamahal Hill has the edge against Jiri Prochazka
Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has weighed in on the upcoming light heavyweight clash between Jiri Prochazka and Jamahal Hill. He expressed doubts about Prochazka's mindset and favored Hill's skill set.
Speaking on the JAXXON Podcast via MMA Fighting, Rockhold noted concerns about Prochazka's mental state following his defeat at UFC 303:
"You just don’t know where Jiri is at — his head and his mind... He just didn’t look himself [at UFC 303]. He knew what he needed to do, and he went out there and fought blindly."
Highlighting Hill’s strengths, Rockhold praised the former champion’s power and adaptability:
"Jamahal Hill’s more dangerous. He’s got pop, he’s got power, he goes for the kill. Jamahal’s got funky... he’s weirdly athletic, sometimes. He’s hard to take down. You [saw] it in the Glover [Teixeira] fight — he was able to get up, get his weight, and funk his way through a lot of things. And he ends up finding his shot, the kill shot. But, like I said, this is a rebuilding process for both of them, and you don’t know. But I don’t know, I might favor Jamahal in this one."
