29-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu superstar Dante Leon of Canada has always had a profound love for 'the gentle art', even at a young age.

Training in BJJ since he was a young boy in the family gym, Leon admits he had tried other martial arts disciplines at first but resonated most with grappling.

Today, the Pedigo Submission Fighting representative is widely considered one of the most talented BJJ players in the world, as he showcases his skills in the world's largest martial arts organization.

Speaking to Jits Magazine in a recent interview, Leon shared what it was like trying other disciplines such as boxing and Muay Thai.

The 29-year-old said:

"So it started with that [boxing]. I also did Muay Thai. Like before I started jiu-jitsu. Also for my first six months of doing jiu-jitsu, I still did Muay Thai, and then it never became a thing, I didn't like it anymore. It was just like jiu-jitsu was such a real thing for me."

Leon returns to action this weekend in Thailand in his second fight for ONE Championship.
