Joe Fournier vs. David Haye: What happened when KSI's undefeated opponent clashed with a former boxing champion?

YouTube megastar and boxer KSI is all set to face fellow UK celebrity and boxer Joe Fournier next. Many in the combat sports world view Fournier as the biggest challenge of the YouTuber's boxing career thus far. Jocelyn Faisal Jules Fournier aka Joe Fournier is a British businessman who's sporadically competed as a professional boxer.

The 40-year-old has also competed in a few exhibition boxing bouts, one of which came against his longtime friend and former professional boxer David Haye. A highly accomplished veteran pugilist from the UK, Haye is a former two-weight boxing world champion. He's a former unified cruiserweight champion and also held the WBA heavyweight title during his career.

David Haye's final professional boxing bout saw him lose via fifth-round TKO in his rematch against Tony Bellew in May 2018. The 42-year-old retired from pro boxing after the bout. However, Haye returned to face Joe Fournier in an exhibition boxing match on the undercard of the Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort boxing event in September 2021.

Their eight-round heavyweight exhibition boxing match saw the undefeated Joe Fournier suffer a first-round knockdown against David Haye. Furthermore, Haye out-boxed him throughout the fight and won via unanimous decision (79-72, 80-71, and 79-72).

That said, since the fight was an exhibition bout, its result didn't reflect on either fighter's professional boxing record, meaning that Joe Fournier is still unbeaten as a pro boxer.

KSI looks to continue KO streak against Joe Fournier

KSI (real name: Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji) has competed in two amateur boxing bouts, one professional boxing bout, and three exhibition bouts thus far. The 29-year-old holds an amateur boxing record of one win and one draw, whereas his professional boxing record is that of one win and zero losses.

Moreover, KSI's exhibition boxing record is that of three victories and no defeats, with all three victories coming by way of KO. Presently, he's scheduled to face Joe Fournier in an eight-round cruiserweight exhibition boxing bout. Their fight will headline the MF & DAZN: X Series 007 event at the Wembley Arena, in London, England, on May 13th, 2023.

Joe Fournier boasts a professional boxing record of nine wins and no losses, while his exhibition boxing record is that of one win and one defeat. Fournier is believed to have faced much better opposition than KSI in his career.

Regardless, KSI has vowed to continue his winning ways and his knockout streak as he fights Fournier. Taking to Twitter, the YouTuber and social media influencer addressed his upcoming showdown against Fournier and wrote:
