Joe Rogan recently criticized the Joe Biden administration, alleging that it prioritized massive aid packages for Ukraine while failing to provide sufficient support to restore Maui in the aftermath of the catastrophic wildfires that hit the Hawaiian island in August 2023.
During a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the veteran UFC commentator expressed his frustration with the US government, arguing that a $5 billion relief package could help rebuild Maui.
However, Rogan alleged that American authorities had mistakenly sent over $6 billion to Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia, money that could have been used for the rehabilitation of the Hawaiian island:
"All it would have taken is $5 billion [to rebuild Maui], and they accidentally paid an extra $6 billion to Ukraine. For $5 billion, everyone could've got their homes back, and everything could have settled, but nothing's been done... I'm saying they accidentally sent $6 billion there, and no one cared, and they didn't send $5 billion to Maui, and they could have."

Is Joe Rogan’s claim about Joe Biden administration accidentally sending $6 billion to Ukraine true?
Joe Rogan's assertion that the US government accidentally sent over $6 billion in aid to Ukraine stems from misinformation surrounding the Pentagon's announcement, which has since been debunked.
As reported by Reuters in July 2024, a clip from a June 2023 press briefing, which discussed an accounting error that inflated the value of US military equipment sent to Ukraine, has been circulating online since last year. This clip has been misrepresented to falsely claim that the Pentagon accidentally sent an additional $6.2 billion to Ukraine.
The Department of Defense Deputy clarified that the overstatement stemmed from a misapplication of accounting methods, which resulted in a surplus that would be applied to future security packages. The report further explained that the error occurred because the value of equipment drawn from Pentagon stock was calculated using replacement costs rather than book values.
