Joe Rogan once again had Tesla founder Elon Musk on his podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience. Musk, being one of the most recognizable individuals in the world today, pulls a lot of viewers to the popular podcast, appearing multiple times since becoming friends with Rogan a few years back.

In his most recent appearance on the show, Musk had an air of politics about him, declaring his alliance with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. This decision to dip his toes in politics raised some eyebrows, as the Tesla CEO usually keeps to himself in the business world.

Another one of his moves that raised many eyebrows in the past was Musk's $44 billion acquisition of X (formerly Twitter), after which he fired 80% of its employees. He also removed all sorts of censorship on the platform, allowing a wide variety of speech to be heard.

While some hated Musk for this controversial move, Rogan found it quite pivotal in the fight for freedom of speech, saying:

"If it wasn't for you [Musk] buying that and changing Twitter, I don't think we'll be where we're at right now. I think it was a pivotal moment. I think, historically, when people look back on it, it's going to be a pivotal moment in this very bizarre fight for the freedom of information."

Joe Rogan speculates Elon Musk to clean up US government just like X, should Donald Trump win

In a previous JRE episode featuring venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, Joe Rogan spoke about what Elon Musk's allegiance with Donald Trump could mean in the event that the former U.S. President takes the seat once again.

The popular MMA commentator speculated that Musk will spearhead a government efficiency program, in which he'll clean up the US government akin to how he did with X.

Rogan said (via Joe Rogan Experience):

"One of the things that I thought was extraordinary that Elon was getting pushed back on was his idea of making the government more efficient. And that auditing the various programs and finding out how to make them more efficient. A lot of people really freaked out about that."

Rogan continued:

"The main argument from the intelligent people that I saw was, 'What are you gonna do? Are you gonna fire all these people that are in charge of the government?' I don't think that's the answer for an ineffective government, is to let the same people do the same thing because otherwise you have to fire them."
