Elon Musk and Joe Rogan discuss "irony" of Justice Department attacking Space X
Joe Rogan and Elon Musk recently discussed the tech billionaire's Space X being targeted by the U.S. Justice Department. Musk outlined that they had a problem with Space X's hiring policies since the company is considered to possess advanced weapons technology under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations rules.
In a recent episode of Rogan's podcast, Musk explained why Space X was facing trouble with the U.S. Justice Department and said:
"The DOJ is attacking [filing lawsuits against] SpaceX for not hiring asylum seekers. Even though it is legal for SpaceX to hire anyone who is not a permanent resident of the US."
He continued:
"So, since we’re in the most extreme category of weapons technology, under US ITAR law, it’s illegal to hire anyone who is not a permanent resident of the US. Because there's a presumption that if they're not a US citizen, they're gonna return to their home country and take the rocket technology with them."
