Joe Rogan sat down alongside fellow comedians Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano in the recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. During their conversation they discussed why some of the best and scary UFC fighters come from regions like Chechnya and Dagestan.
Rogan believes some of the scariest UFC fighters come from war-torn regions. The UFC commentator said that only a hard person survives in places which have been affected by wars.
Rogan said:
I mean it's not a coincidence that some of the scariest people live in war torn parts of the world. Like the fighters that come to the UFC, the scariest motherf**ckers are like the guys from Chechnya...Like you know guys from Dagestan? Those guys are terrifying. Why? well look at the history of that part of the world, you know I mean you have to be a hard person to survive.

At present, many of the UFC's big-name fighters like Islam Makhachev, Umar Nurmagomedov, Magomed Ankalaev and Khamzat Chimaev come from these regions. The history of these provinces seemingly has shaped the character of the people from the region, which may benefit them in fighting.

Joe Rogan believes Khamzat Chimaev's wrestling is "high level" for Dricus Du Plessis to overcome
UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan believes Khamzat Chimaev is levels above his competition in the middleweight division. Rogan was left shocked a couple of months ago when Chimaev brutally finished Robert Whittaker via a face crank and dislocated his teeth.
Many expected the former middleweight champion to be the toughest test of Chimaev's career. However, 'Borz' proved them wrong and finished the fight in the first round. Rogan expressed his concerns over Du Plessis being able to defend against Chimaev, stating:
"Dricus can wrestle, he's got very good Jiu-jitsu. He hits hard and he's a big, durable dude. But I don't know if he's going to be able to wrestle with that guy. I don't know, man. Khamzat's skill is so high level, it makes me wonder."
