Joe Rogan finds it ironic that Adam Sandler's movies win over fans but lose with critics: "Whatever the Rotten Tomatoes critics' score is"

Fans of both MMA and comedy are going crazy as a meeting of titans just took place at the Joe Rogan Experience. The UFC commentator and podcasting legend had Hollywood royalty Adam Sandler over in his podcast. Within just a few hours since upload, the episode is already reaching a million views on YouTube.

With both men having stand-up comedy roots, it's no surprise that they have known each other as friends for many years. It's quite a refreshing sight to see Sandler being so candid with a fellow comedian for all the world to see.

Sandler, a veteran of over 30 years and considered one of the highest-paid actors today, has had critically acclaimed films such as 'Punch Drunk Love', 'The Meyerowitz Stories', and 'Uncut Gems'. However, he has also had critically-panned movies such as 'Billy Madison', 'Happy Gilmore', and 'Don't Mess with the Zohan' but were, ultimately, beloved by fans.

This was one of the talking points in the podcast, where Rogan pointed out that some of Sandler's films didn't care much about what the critics said so long as they satisfy the fans.

Rogan said:

"It's so funny because your films get loved by the public and hated by critics. It's so hilarious. Like, whatever the Rotten Tomatoes critics' score is, for your films, it means zero. Nothing. It's only the audience is what counts. Coz your films are all so fun and so silly and in my opinion, so underappreciated."

Adam Sandler to Joe Rogan: "I always wanted to get into the movies"

On the topic of his movie career, Adam Sandler was asked if he originally set out to just be a stand-up comedian or if a film career was his ultimate dream.

The 57-year-old actor said (via Joe Rogan Experience):

"I think I [always] wanted to get into the movies. I was f**kin' nuts, c*cky as sh*t in my own weird way. I think a big thing that happened to me was I told my friends in high school I was gonna be f**kin' big. And I had to do it [laughs]."

Good thing Sandler is one young man who had the stones to proclaim to the world that he's going to be big. If not, we wouldn't be blessed with such timeless comedic characters as The Zohan, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, and many more.
