UFC color commentator Joe Rogan is known for being a legitimate combat sports enthusiast. Whenever he discusses anything related to combat sports, whether it be boxing, kickboxing, MMA, or jiu-jitsu, Rogan is all gas and no brakes.
During episode #1920 of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast, the 55-year-old rejected Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy's opinion that Tyson Fury's younger brother Tommy Fury is not a "real boxer."
Portnoy questioned the undefeated light heavyweight's legitimacy as a boxer, stating that the world wouldn't have known about him if he wasn't the younger brother of the WBC heavyweight champion.
According to the 45-year-old, celebrity boxing star Jake Paul would make light work of the 23-year-old Fury.

Responding to Portnoy's claims, Rogan stated that although Tommy Fury is levels below his older, much more successful sibling, he has good boxing skills and is at least a good "journeyman boxer":
"He is definitely a boxer, but is he a boxer like his brother? No! He is a good journeyman boxer."
Seeing that the Barstool CEO was not budging from his stance and was incessantly refuting the young fighter's legitimacy, a furious Rogan started showing him various highlight reels of Tommy Fury.
Rogan said:
"You telling me this guy is not a really good boxer, you are out of your f*****g mind. Look at this, the guy is fighting a professional boxer, the guy he is fighting looks good. You're crazy if you don't think Tommy Fury is a boxer... Shut the f**k up dude, shut the f**k up [and] watch this."

When Joe Rogan said that people would see Jake Paul as a legitimate surging boxing contender if not for his YouTube fame
During episode #1814 of JRE, Joe Rogan explained to Radio Rahim that people would view Jake Paul as a promising boxing prospect if not for his status as a successful YouTuber.
Rogan gave props to 'The Problem Child' for his one-punch knockout win against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. According to the JRE host, Paul's feints and footwork are those of a legitimate boxer.
Rogan said:
"Entertain this perspective - if Jake Paul wasn't Jake Paul. If he wasn't this YouTube guy [and] he was just a boxer, and you see a boxer knock out the former UFC welterweight champion [Tyron Woodley]... knock him out with one punch like that, you would be like, 'Oh man, have you seen this Jake Paul dude coming up, he's f*****g for real' ... The feints, the foot movement, the way he lands shots, he fights like a boxer. He doesn't fight like a guy who's trying to box in a celebrity boxing match."
