For Joe Rogan, conspiracy theories are a natural interest, and the highly contentious Roswell incident is no exception. The UFC color commentator recently responded to U.S. Army Major Jesse Marcel’s claim that the debris recovered from the 1947 Roswell crash site was extraterrestrial in origin.
Marcel, the first military officer on the scene, continued to maintain that the materials found, according to him, were unlike anything made on Earth. Despite the U.S. Army's explanation that attributed the debris to a weather balloon, Marcel insisted that this was allegedly a cover story.
In 1978, he revealed that the debris he encountered was lightweight, flexible, and indestructible, up the debate about the speculation of alien involvement. The Roswell incident has become one of the most enduring UFO mysteries, with many conspiracy theorists believing that the government is hiding evidence of extraterrestrial life. According to Marcel:
"One of my boys told me that's something unusual here. He said I tried to make a dent in this metal [that they found at the crash site] but you can't bend it. I took a sledgehammer and whammed it and the sledgehammer bounced off it. He told me not to say anything [and] that I will handle it from now."

Official reports later attributed the crash to a classified military project, Project Mogul, which involved high-altitude balloons designed to detect Soviet nuclear tests. Rogan took to X to deliver a four-word reaction, writing:
"I WANT TO BELIEVE."

Joe Rogan points out what makes Islam Makhachev better than Khabib Nurmagomedov
Joe Rogan believes Islam Makhachev's impressive victory at UFC 311, which saw him defend his lightweight title for a fourth time, may have solidified his place as a greater fighter than Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Nurmagomedov, who's considered one of the greatest of all time, retired in 2020 after an undefeated career. Rogan pointed out Makhachev’s ability to dominate opponents with elite striking, setting him apart from 'The Eagle', who was known for his suffocating grappling and ground control. Speaking about the difference between the two fighters at the UFC 311 post-fight show, Rogan said:
“I mean, the kind of pressure that’s on a champion to come in and take a fight against an unheralded challenger, a guy who’s not supposed to win, a guy who’s very dangerous and has nothing to lose. Moicano was playing with house money. And to perform that way and just immediately sink up a submission on a Brazilian jiujitsu black belt to the ground [is incredible]... When you look at his striking, that’s the thing that separates him [from Khabib Nurmagomedov]."
Rogan added:
“I mean, Khabib was just an unbelievable grounded pound machine and sufficient, but what Islam brings to the table is elite striking as well. I mean, his striking is as good as anybody in the sport.”
