Joe Rogan was a notable absentee during the filming of the remake of Patrick Swayze's 1989 classic, 'Road House', at the recent UFC 285 event in Las Vegas last weekend. Parts of the film were shot during the pay-per-view event with Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal and UFC veteran Jay Hieron enacting an octagon fight.

Much like a real UFC bout, the filmed scenes included Jon Anik, Megan Olivi, and Daniel Cormier emulating the commentary booth action usually seen during bouts. However, keen-eyed fans noticed that Rogan was not a part of the regular commentary team and was replaced by Olivi.

In a video posted by @jedigoodman on Twitter, it is evident that Anik took his role in the movie seriously and reacted animatedly to Gyllenhaal and Hieron's fight. 'DC' and Megan Olivi can also be seen playing their parts as commentators.

While the popular podcaster carried out his color commentary duties as usual during the fights at UFC 285, Rogan's absence from the film's fighting sequence was notable. Interestingly, the famous standup comic was also missing in action during the filming of the weigh-ins and was replaced by Jon Anik during the scene.

UFC 285: Fans react to Joe Rogan being absent from Jake Gyllenhaal's fight scene for 'Road House'

The UFC 285 event and the ceremonial weigh-ins that happened the night before were used as backdrops for scenes for the upcoming 'Road House' movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor.

Joe Rogan went missing from both sets, leading fans to speculate why.

As fans theorized why Joe Rogan wasn't part of the film, various reasons like budget, contract issues, and his beef with McGregor over alleged PED use were brought up. Fans made their thoughts known in the comments section of the tweet above.

One user speculated on the budgetary reasons behind Joe Rogan's absence:

"Probably because they have to pay him extra for cameo?"

Another fan joked:

"He’s out of shot calling the cops on Jake Gyllenhaal"

Another Twitter user pointed out:

"Can’t remember which one, but he just said a few weeks ago on his podcast he doesn’t ever want to do a movie!"

Another user stated:

"He has said many times he has no interest in being in movies, it’s just not his thing"

One user joked about Rogan's famous reaction during fights:

"Now we’re not gonna hear 'oh he’s hurt, he’s hurt'"

A fan opined:

"Good for him!!! He’s worth more! Very smart move. Also he is very particular to what he endorses."
