Joe Rogan recently opened up about why accepted a $200 million offer to join Spotify. The monumental deal saw his podcast move exclusively to the streaming platform and in full-length video form.

The UFC commentator's JRE podcast had built a very strong following on YouTube, so his podcast was a commodity that Spotify wanted to acquire. After the deal was into effect, he couldn't post his full-length podcasts on YouTube or stream them live on the channel but posted short clips from each episode.

During his latest JRE Fight Companion for UFC 308 last Saturday, Rogan clarified why he accepted the offer, especially considering he would have to slightly adjust his schedule. He mentioned that money was a major factor and noted not being bothered at all by possibly being less famous as a result of being exclusive to Spotify:

"The most hilarious thing, when I first got to Spotify, I was willing to do it for two reasons. One, cause it was a ton of money and two, because I wanted to be like, 10% less famous. I was like, 'Wouldn't it be nice?... Cause people were like, 'Oh, you're gonna go into obscurity'. I'm like, 'Great... Perfect [be like Howard Stern], give me the money.' I got other interests, man. Give me the loot." [38:28]

Joe Rogan clarifies VP Kamala Harris didn't decline to appear on JRE

Joe Rogan's JRE episode with former U.S. President Donald Trump has been a hot topic of discussion since it was uploaded last Friday and the UFC commentator recently clarified why VP Kamala Harris didn't appear.

Rogan took to X and clarified the misconception that Harris declined to appear on his podcast. He mentioned that the appearance would have been different than Trump's and couldn't make it work as a result, but still expressed interest in having her on as a guest:

"Also, for the record the Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast. They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin. My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen."
