Joe Rogan recently hosted the Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in his popular podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The duo had a long conversation touching on multiple issues. The famed UFC color commentator and the American businessman also shared thoughts on Apple's 30% commission on in-app purchases and subscriptions on the company's App Store.

At one point in the conversation, Rogan mentioned how Apple makes a person attached to its products, which he doesn't like. He even pointed out Apple's cut on in-app purchases from their App Store:

"There's so much of what Apple does and I don't like and one of the big ones is the way they do that Apple Store, where they charge people 30 %. Like that seems so insane that they can get away with doing that."

Zuckerberg offered his two cents on the matter and recalled Steve Jobs' great invention of the iPhone. He credited the company for making an amazing platform while they were working on their ventures almost two decades back. He also mentioned that Apple as a company has a specific set of rules that make it seem 'arbitrary'.

"We didn't play any role in basically building those phones, I mean it was getting worked on while I was still you know just trying to make the first website that I was making into a thing."
"On one hand it's great because you know pretty much everyone has a phone that's kind of enables pretty amazing things but on the other hand like you're saying they have used that platform to put in place a lot of rules that I think feel arbitrary."

When Joe Rogan praised X as a 'news' source of the world

Social media giant X, formerly known as Twitter, was bought by Elon Musk in October 2022 for a whopping $44 billion. The tech billionaire has since pitched the microblogging site as an alternative to legacy media ventures. Joe Rogan also weighed in on the issue and applauded Musk's X as a news source of the world:

"There is this giant resistance to the idea that X is the news source of the world. It is the news source of the world. You and these people that want to cling to cling authority say 'no you're not, you're not a f***ing journalist, you're not this guy.' You guys f***ed us too many times and we don't believe you anymore."

After Musk's takeover of X, the platform underwent multiple changes. Besides getting renamed, its logo was changed, and community notes were introduced where people would add notes to content that isn't authentic.
