Cancer researcher backs up Joe Rogan's and Mel Gibson's claims about unconventional cancer treatments.

Over the past few years, the race to find a cancer cure has provided hope, as several controversial treatment options, Ivermectin and Fenbendazole, have gained exposure. The UFC commentator has discussed the alternative methods on episode #2254 of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast with Gibson.

Gibson, a legendary actor and director, had this to say during his appearance on JRE:

"I'll tell you a good story. I have three friends, all three of them had stage four cancer. All three of them don't have cancer right now at all, and they had some serious stuff going on... They took some of what you've heard they've taken [Ivermectin and Fenbendazole]... They drank hydrochloride, something or other."

Rogan responded by saying:

"Yeah, I'm hearing that a lot... There's studies on that night where people have proven that."

Rogan and Gibson tend to be labeled as conspiracy theorists by doubters on social media. This time around, William Makis, a radiologist and cancer researcher, took to X and provided support for the previously mentioned quotes:

"I believe I treated one of Mel Gibson's friends, he describes in this clip. Ivermectin and Fenbendazole treatments for cancer are going mainstream! Big pharma is not happy. @joerogan"

Mel Gibson revealed to Joe Rogan he "started crying" while watching Brian Ortega lose

Mel Gibson is one of the most high-profile supporters of MMA and the UFC. During the aforementioned podcast, Gibson revealed that No.6-ranked featherweight Brian Ortega is a friend of his, making it harder to watch him lose against Alexander Volkanovski in September 2021:

"You know I'm addicted to the UFC right?... Usually, I'm pretty immune to this but like he was in there and he was fighting against [Alexander] Volkanovski. It was Brian Ortega and he was getting his a*s handed to him in one fight... I almost started crying. And then it got to me that I should feel like this about all these guys."

Joe Rogan responded by telling Mel Gibson he struggles with watching his close friends become older and struggle with CTE. The conversation between Rogan and Gibson was a reminder of the long-term effects of being an MMA fighter.
