Joe Rogan and his podcast guest Mike Baker recently mused on a scenario in which Donald Trump toned down his rhetorics and subscribed to a more civil approach after the assassination attempt on him earlier this year in Pennsylvania. Suffice it to say the duo quickly dismissed the possibility of such an outcome.

Baker, a former CIA covert operative is a recurring guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

During his latest appearance on episode #2197 of JRE, Baker pondered on how the Democrats would've responded if Trump had used the assassination attempt as an excuse to stray from his usual flamboyant inclinations to take a more rational and level-headed approach to politics:

"If after that attempt had happened and he just walked the civil line... first of all they [Democrats] would've gone crazy because they wouldn't know what to do... And then you would have had Trump over here being the reasonable one and being the reflective and civil one."

While Joe Rogan agreed it would have been a sound strategy on Trump's part to use the attempted assassination to reinvent his public image, the podcaster believes it was never going to happen.

Rogan doubled down on his perspective saying:

"No, it's not in his nature. That's the scorpion and the frog... That guy loves to talk s**t. He is calling Tim Walz 'Tampon Tim' now."

For context 'The Scorpion and the Frog' is a fable that narrates how violent people can't stop themselves from hurting others, even when it is to their own detriment.

Joe Rogan on what he'd like to ask Donald Trump: "What is the deep state really like?"

While the JRE has hosted many popular figures from around the world, interestingly enough, Donald Trump has never been featured on the podcast.

While Joe Rogan is still not sure whether he'll ever have the former POTUS on, there is a long list of queries that he'd like to have some light shone on if he ever sits down with the 78-year-old.

Talking to Patrick Bet-David on episode #2016 of the JRE, the sportscaster claimed:

"It would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things. I'd like to know what it's like to really get into office. I'd like to know things like what it's like versus perception. What is it actually like when you get in that building? What are you greeted with, when do you know people are f*****g with you? When do you know the intelligence agency is lying to you... What's the machine like? What is the deep state really like?"
