On episode #2252 of The Joe Rogan Experience, which is the latest of the podcast, the podcaster engaged Christian apologist Wesley Huff in a conversation about cults and religions. This led to Rogan bringing up Mormons, who are followers of the Latter Day Saint movement.
Rogan refers to Mormons as cultists before subsequently describing them as friendly. In fact, Rogan believes that the friendly disposition of Mormons renders conversion significantly easy, given the social magnetism of those who come across as personable.
"Mormons are the nicest cult members. They're the nicest people, they really are so nice, I love them. I mean, Mormons that I've met have been so friendly, they're so family-oriented. I mean, it's, like really easy to, like, think, 'These are great people. I'll join them.'"
This caused Huff, Rogan's guest, to detail why Mormons prioritize the family unit as a matter of theological importance. This led to Rogan, a successful comedian, recounting a joke he once made.

"It's a really great cult, you know. I mean, or religion. I mean, I used to have a joke in my act that a cult is fake and it's made by one guy and that guy invented it, and a religion that guy's dead."

The veteran MMA commentator is known for his agnostic beliefs. However, following the death of his grandfather, Rogan came to believe in the concept of a soul, a notion he previously rejected. However, he remains detached from organized religion as a whole, with his spiritual beliefs being more ambiguous.
Joe Rogan has criticized Mormonism before
Nearly half a decade ago, Joe Rogan welcomed Bradley Garrett, a geographer on episode #1515 of his podcast. During their conversation, Rogan took a swipe at Mormonism, describing them as cult members and questioning the logic of the entire belief system.
"If sh*t hits the fan and you're around a lot of Mormons, you go, 'Listen. You guys got a lot of things right. A lot of things. You're the nicest cult members ever. Like, Mormons are so nice. I lived next to a Mormon for 10 years. He was so nice. He was a great guy, but out of his f***ing mind. You know, he was out of his f***ing mind. He really believed that Joseph Smith found golden tablets that contained the lost work of Jesus."
