Joe Rogan recently suggested that Kamaru Usman's poor knees played a significant part in his knockout loss to Leon Edwards at UFC 278. The host of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) also recalled the Englishman tripping Usman on his bad knee in their fight and taking him down.

Usman won the welterweight belt against Tyron Woodley in 2019 and went on to defend it successfully five times. However, 'The Nigerian Nightmare' lost his title to Edwards last year via a shocking fifth-round head-kick knockout. The result also marked Usman's first loss in the UFC. The pair are now set to face off for the third time at UFC 286 in London.

In a recent episode of the JRE MMA Show with Paul Felder, Joe Rogan revealed the extent of Usman's injuries while discussing the upcoming matchup. Recalling their last outing, Rogan stated:

"Kamaru is famous for having knee problems. Like, he has horrendous knees. He walks down steps backwards, which is crazy. When he fights, he puts that all out the window, but when Leon took him down [at UFC 278], he tripped him on his bad knee... One of his knees is worse... His knees are chewed up man. Real bad."

Joe Rogan on Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira rematch at UFC 287

Joe Rogan is looking forward to seeing Israel Adesanya go head-to-head against Alex Pereira again in the UFC octagon. 'The Last Stylebender' will look to reclaim the middleweight title when he faces 'Poatan' in the main event of UFC 287 in April.

Adesanya lost to Pereira in each of their three previous meetings, two of which came in kickboxing. The Brazilian is also the only fighter to ever knock out the former middleweight king.

In their first-ever MMA contest at UFC 281, Adesanya was comfortably ahead on the judges' scorecards at the end of the fifth round. However, a surprising final-round TKO ended the Nigerian-born Kiwi's middleweight title reign.

In the same JRE episode mentioned above, Joe Rogan discussed Pereira's upcoming title defense and why he's looking forward to it:

"I'm very interested in the rematch. Very interested because you got to think, Izzy almost had him out in the first round. He almost had him out. If he can avoid getting that leg compromised like he did in the first round of that fight and so he's got his movement, and he also had some great moments grappling which surprised a lot of people..."
