Joe Rogan seems to empathize with Luigi Mangione, the alleged killer of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Duirng a recent episode of his popular podcast the UFC commentator labeled Mangione as someone who "probably got f****d over" by the insurance industry.
Thompson was gunned down in front of a Manhattan hotel on Dec.4 by a hooded man wearing a grey backpack. The footage of the assassination went viral on social media leading to speculations that it might've been a professional hit job.
Rogan for one doesn't subscribe to this narrative. Speaking to Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary on episode #2240 of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he did not hold back on his opinion on the matter:
"I don't think this guy was a professional. This guy, if I had to guess [is] some guy who got f****d over. apparently that company is really bad at denying claims, almost like 16 [percent denial rate]."

The sportscaster then went on to echo Avary's sentiment, that few people apart from Thompson's family would find the aftermath of the killing woeful. Furthermore, he went on a fiery rant on the healthcare industry saying:
"It's a dirty, dirty business. The business of insurance is f*****g gross, it's gross. Especially healthcare insurance, just f*****g gross."

Mangione was taken into custody last Monday from Pennsylvania on suspicion of committing the crime after eluding law enforcement for five days. During the detainment, police are said to have confiscated a weapon, fake ID, and a handwritten manifesto.
Top NYPD officials have since revealed that the shell casings from the confiscated firearm match the ones found at the crime scene and had the same words "deny", "defend and "dispose" engraved on them.
Interestingly, the suspected assassin has garnered a slew of support on social media, with many even questioning if Mangione is the real killer.
