Joe Rogan recently divided fans after sharing his take on American democracy potentially turning into a dictatorship due to mandates and restrictions on freedoms. Rogan also boldly claimed that "every single country that's ever existed" was historically run by dictators, with the exception of America.
During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with Evan Hafer (JRE #1693), Rogan went on a rant about America's democracy and claimed it was the "first experiment in self-government" that successfully operated in civil society. He said:
"The history of every single country that's ever existed other than the United States, up until 1776, every fucking country that has ever existed was run by dictators. All of them. This is the first one where you had elected officials. This is the first experiment in self-government that actually worked and it created the greatest superpower the world's ever known. It created the greatest cultural machine... It did it through freedom."

As soon as you put the boots to them... Now you have a mini-dictator. You are one step away from a king... You move one step closer to a dictatorship and that's what the f**k is happening."
After @AAnon55 posted a clip of his speech on X, fans flocked to the comments section to express their thoughts.
One fan wrote:
"Uhh... What about the Greeks and Romans? They both had periods of democracy."

Joe Rogan explains why he has hope in America after 2024 Presidential elections
In a JRE episode with Michael Waddell (#2248), Joe Rogan explained why he had high hopes for America's future. The UFC commentator specifically pointed to Donald Trump's 2024 election and Elon Musk's involvement in his upcoming administration as what he looked forward to.
Speaking to Waddell about America's future, Rogan detailed his support for the Republican Party and said:
"I have more hope for this country right now, after this election, than I've had in a long, long time. It feels like with this crew of people - with JD Vance, Elon Musk, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, and Vivek Ramaswamy - I think there's a real chance that things can change. Real chance that we can expose some of the deep-seated corruption, some of the problems we've had in this country and move us on to a better path."
