For the first time in six years, Joe Rogan released a stand-up comedy special which Netflix live-streamed on Aug. 3. Although his performance received mixed reviews, the hour-long routine reached No. 1 on the platform's top 10 list.
Many of Rogan's political statements grabbed attention, including his comments about how the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted his mental outlook. The podcast host said the pandemic made him question everything, including conspiracy theories involving vaccines, the moon landing and Michelle Obama.
Rogan said:
"Before Covid, I would have told you vaccines were the most important invention in human history. After Covid, I'm like: 'I don't think we went to the moon. I think Michelle Obama's got a d***, I think Pizzagate is real, I think there's direct energy weapons in Antarctica.' I'm just kidding, I don't think Michelle Obama's got a d*** but I believe all that other s***."

Joe Rogan: Burn the Boats reviews
Due to his popularity, Joe Rogan's special topped the Netflix charts upon its release but was criticized by the media.
Several sources labeled his routine as too specific for only one type of viewer, while others frowned upon his transgender and homosexual jokes. Rogan was also criticized for lacking creativity, and most of his material was deemed repetitive.
However, some were complimentary of the comedian's act, finding his show timely and refreshing given his independent political views.
Overall, the 67-minute special currently has a 4.8-star rating on IMDb. Noted for his brash takes, Rogan rose to fame as co-host of Comedy Central's The Man Show. The 56-year-old has worked for the UFC since 2002.
