Joe Rogan recently responded to Mark Zuckerberg's comments regarding the United States government's efforts to vaccinate everyone. Furthermore, Rogan addressed the issue with Zuckerberg's remarks by comparing Anthony Fauci to the Oscar-winning film 'Dallas Buyers Club'.
For context, Fauci was criticized for his role in pandemic response while he was the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022. He was accused by several of concealing the origins of the virus.
In his appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, Zuckerberg asserted that the government was correct in encouraging vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Meta CEO said:
''Their goal of everyone to get vaccinated was actually, I think a good goal...I still think it’s good for more people to get the vaccine… I think that they [the government] had a kind of goal that they thought was in the interests of the country. And the way they went about it, I think, violated the law.”

Rogan, however, disagreed with Zuckerberg, arguing that money was the only factor at play and blamed the U.S. government for it. The UFC commentator asserted that if the American citizens had been informed, they would have taken preventative action and stayed healthy, which would have halted the sales of COVID-19 vaccines.
Rogan said:
''Well, there’s a bunch of problems with that, right?...they suppressed valid therapeutics. So they’re suppressing real information that would lead to people being healthy and successful in defeating this disease...And this was Fauci’s game plan. I mean, this is the movie Dallas Buyers Club. That’s Fauci in that movie. That was with the AIDS crisis. This is the exact same game plan that was played out with the COVID vaccine.''
He continued:
''They pushed one solution, this only one, suppressed all therapeutics through propaganda, through suppressing monoclonal antibodies, like all of it. And that was done, in my opinion, for profit. And they did that because it was extremely profitable. The amount of money that was made was extraordinary during that time.”

Joe Rogan criticizes the American media
In the aforementioned conversation with Mark Zuckerberg on his podcast, Joe Rogan expressed his thoughts on the present state of the American media.
According to Rogan, some people in these sectors are not well-informed about what is going on in the country.
''That's another thing that they are at a huge disadvantage of and mainstream media is like, they are just doing that because that's their job. They probably don't even know a lot about climate change. They probably don't really understand what SpaceX is trying to accomplish. They're just reporting on it... It's a terrible format. The problem is, they get locked into that format and no one trusts them.''
