Joe Rogan spills NSFW story from "cocaine days" of 1980's Miami shared by close friend: "Guys with things stuffed up their a*s"

In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, host Joe Rogan recounted a shocking story about the chaotic 1980s in Miami, shared by his friend, an ophthalmologist who trained there during the infamous "cocaine days."

Speaking with guest Duncan Trussell, Rogan described the bizarre and often dangerous scenarios his friend encountered during his medical residency.

According to Rogan, Steve frequently treated patients with gunshot wounds and those who had lodged unusual objects in their bodies while under the influence of drugs:

"Can I tell you about my buddy Steve? He did ophthalmology, he was in his residency. He did in Miami in the 80s during the cocaine days. No. Oh my god dude, he said every day it was just gunshot wounds and guys with things stuffed up their a**. They would get coked up and they'd shove something up their a** to try to c*m harder and they just got things stuck up their a**."

Rogan added:

"They're coked out of their f**king minds dude. They don't know what they're doing. This is the 80s in Miami Holy sh*t."

Joe Rogan and Quentin Tarantino also delved into the 1980s cocaine culture

In another episode of his JRE podcast, host Joe Rogan, along with guests Quentin Tarantino, and Roger Avary delved into the wild cocaine culture of the 1980s.

The trio shared anecdotes about the pervasive drug use in the entertainment industry during that era, shedding light on its influence and excesses. Rogan recounted his experience at Nick’s Comedy Stop in Boston, where performers were given the option to be paid in cocaine or cash:

"When I worked in Boston at Nick's Comedy Stop, they would offer to pay you in cocaine or cash. There were guys who just took the cocaine. Certain comics, they just wanted to get paid in coke. Yeah, wild times. You know, that's the 80s."

Tarantino reflected on his encounters with cocaine, admitting that it became a temporary indulgence for him and his peers:

"That was actually even kind of an interesting situation cause it was also one of those things where I was actually really kind of proud of us 'cause we all kind of like, woo, we all kind of went nutty for a little bit with this kind of 'more access to coke' than we normally would have. More access than we] ever had. Because we can't afford that sh*t. So, we all went nuts for a little bit about it, and then we all kind of, 'Okay. Let's bring it together."
