Joe Rogan starts the New Year with a mind-boggling perspective on human history

With the start of the new year, Joe Rogan took the opportunity to share some wisdom through a post from the Inside History Instagram page.

The post put into perspective the struggles of individuals born in the 1900s, who survived world-changing events like the two great wars, the Spanish flu, the Great Depression and the Vietnam War.

It reminds us of how our grandfathers and great-grandfathers made it through turbulent times, and how children born through and after the 80s find it hard to fathom such struggles.

The insightful post shared by the UFC commentator had a comforting closing caption that read:

"Perspective is an amazing art. As 2022 ends, let's try and keep things in perspective. Let's be smart, help each other out, and we will get through all of this. In the history of the world, there has never been a storm that lasted. This too shall pass."

Over the years, Joe Rogan has been able to help carve out a niche for himself, expressing philosophy that appeals to disenfranchised youth. While some of his takes have been viewed as controversial - with the threat of being canceled on more than one occasion - the veteran UFC commentator has been able to reach out to a wide audience.

When Joe Rogan was blasted for his comments on his biological father by his estranged sisters

Joe Rogan is not shy when it comes to sharing excerpts of his life, past or present. The color commentator-cum-comedian and podcaster opened up about his struggles dealing with his biological father as a child in an early episode of the Joe Rogan Experience.

Here's what Rogan had to say about his biological father:

"All my damaged s**t came from my real father before I was seven. My real father was crazy. He was like a psychotic person. He beat the f**k out of my mother, he beat the f**k out of my cousin."

Rogan's sisters, Bridget Rogan Carselda and Rosa Rogan Lunelli, hit back at the commentator's statements, claiming that he cold-shouldered them when they tried to reach out to them. Carselda also refuted Joe Rogan's claims of their father being abusive and said the following:

"My father has never been violent ever, that is why Joe junior's claims are such a shock to us. My father has never even raised his voice to us. He is the epitome of a wonderful father."

Rogan currently resides in Austin, Texas, having previously lived in Los Angeles, California, for a major portion of his life. He won't be on the commentary team for UFC 283: Jamahal Hill vs. Glover Teixeira as he only covers domestic pay-per-views.

The organization will return to Rio de Janeiro for the first time in almost three years at UFC 283.
