UFC color commentator Joe Rogan delivered a trenchant criticism of the current political climate in Canada. Rogan's comments were particularly directed toward the leadership of the country's prime minister, Justin Trudeau.
Rogan did not mince words, describing the situation in Canada as a "full-blown communist takeover." In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with American comedian Sam Morril, the 56-year-old expressed concerns over the erosion of individual freedom and rights. He also pointed out the truckers' protest where several accounts of those who supported the movement were allegedly frozen.
At the core of his argument, Rogan highlighted that regulated speech guidelines geared toward promoting ethical conduct may lead to negative consequences. Rogan also detailed the conditions under which he will step foot in Canada, saying:

"F*ck You!” I’m done with Canada... I just don’t trust any of it up there. I think they’re so far into tyranny right now, the laws that they’re passing, the sh*t that they’re doing, the erosion of people’s rights. Like, I don’t want to support it. I think it’s f*cking horrible... They’re in the middle of a full-blown communist takeover.”
He added:
"Compelled speech has a terrible ending. It always ends in communism. Someone has to compel that speech [and] who does that? People with guns tell you what to do."
Rogan concluded by asserting that he would only return to Canada if they got "rid" of Trudeau, and not while he's still its prime minister.

When Joe Rogan claimed that Canadian citizens are "gluttons for punishment" if Justin Trudeau gets elected again
Joe Rogan is keeping a close eye on the Canadian political climate. Moreover, the result of the 45th Canadian federal election in October 2025 may perhaps determine whether he steps foot in the nation or not.
In the past, Rogan issued a harsh review of Justin Trudeau's leadership and expressed support for Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre. Rogan discussed Trudeau's policies and governance in an episode of his podcast with comedian Tom Green and forecasted dire consequences should the current prime minister win a third term in the 2025 federal elections:
"If [Trudeau] gets elected again, you guys are gluttons for punishment. I don’t necessarily feel that anybody should tell me that I can’t have a handgun. Especially not the government that’s already done some really shady sh*t like what they did with the truck drivers."
